A young Australian shared how he lost 34 kg in 10 months and completely changed his lifestyle without visiting the gym.

In July 2020, Myke Jay remembers tipping the scales at 124kg but stopped weighing because he ‘hated his looks’.

Four months later in November, the 27-year-old knew something needed to change and set himself a goal.

Mike, from Brisbane, said on TikTok: “Every morning seven days a week I would do a 30-minute HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) — non-negotiable. video.

“Even if I felt cr*p, I had to.”

In the video, Myke shared a snapshot of a workout completed on November 15 that burned 428 calories in 29 minutes.

“By doing this every day and limiting the amount of sugars and things I eat, I have decreased by about 11kg in one month,” he said.

In the following month, the weight appeared to ‘reduce’ as he lost 16.7 kg, and by March 2021 he had lost 29.4 kg.

By April 1 – just five months later – Myke had lost 30kg and had dropped from a size 3XL to a medium size.

“At the beginning of 2021 I started walking for an hour or so alone or with a friend, but the way I looked at food really changed,” he said.

Mike explained how he had stopped “defaming food” as “good” or “bad” and instead agreed that it was “all food”.

“You just decide what you put in your body, and how much you put there,” he said.

“What a lot of people don’t talk about is that the self-control part is why people lose weight — because instead of having two family bars of chocolate, you’ll have one king-sized bar.

“And that’s how I kept it.”

Each exercise consists of 45 seconds of exercise and then a 15-second break for 30 minutes

The beauty of this type of exercise is that the exercises can be based on what you enjoy most

The exercises included knee presses, jumping jacks, jump squats, biceps rolls with resistance bands, skull fracture, lateral lunge, dumbbell lunge, and abdominal crunch

The inspiring TikTokker said during his weight loss journey that he still “lives life” and has always been “balanced”.

“The most important part,” he said, “is finding what works for you, and going at your own pace, and not doing it for a man—we do it for ourselves.”

In just 48 hours, the video has been viewed more than 153,000 times and garnered more than 19,000 likes.
